Mosaic Monday~ Ducks and Geese

It's Mosaic Monday again. Please visit Mary at Little Red House to see other beautiful mosaics and to join in on the fun.(click photo to enlarge)
Today, as I was walking in the park, I spotted the ducks as I always do. I snapped a couple of photos.
My dog wanted to go for a swim, or in the very least put her doggie paws in the water.
It was quite unusual to come across so many canadian geese. I have never seen so many at one time in the same spot. It was actually kind of amazing. I was in awe just watching them. When we first happened upon them, they froze like statues, as if to hide from us. It was really something to see.
I bet most people wouldn't believe that these pictures were taken in my neigborhood in Las Vegas. We have some very nice communities here.

  1. I love to watch Canadian Geese, although they can leave a bit of a mess behind! We usually have some in our neighborhood, but you have us outnumbered!

My dog would love to jump into that water.... and bark, bark, bark at those bird!

  2. The canadian geese population has really exploded and they are moving into more and more metro areas. I am not surprised that you are seeing more and more...they do leave and awful mess behind.

  4. Love the mosaic! Especially your pup getting his feet wet! Very cute! My dogs would not have been as calm as yours with all those ducks so close!

  8. Unfortunatley Canadian geese can be such a problem at our waters and parks here. They sometimes take over!

  9. Tell you what, if you like Canadian Geese, you can have the ones around here, too! They do become a bit of a problem for parks, schools, golf courses. Your dog looks as if he could chase a few off! And wouldn't he love to!

However, the geese, trouble though they are, are also very handsome and decorative. Can't have everything I guess.

Beautiful pictures -- what a charming spot to take a walk in! Lovely.

  11. Canada Goose [not Canadian Geese ;)]are a pain, aren't they? The poop in the parks (which dogs for some reason love to roll in) is inches thick in some spots! I've always encouraged my dogs to chase them - it discourages nesting in the areas we'd rather not have them. The train of my wedding dress (many many years ago) was green with it after our wedding photos were taken. YUCK!!

Great shots though, and really nice mosaic!

  12. Wonderful mosaic! I just love little ducklings - so cute. I also love ironic photos - like your dog contemplating a swim next to the "No Swimming" sign!
