Exploring About

One of my very favorite things to do is go exploring. I love to drive. It doesn't matter where, just as long as I get to see some interesting sights. Today, I decided to take my dog and drive to Red Rock Canyon, just a few miles west of the Las Vegas Strip. Although, I don't really consider these mountains, it is a spectacular sight to see. Here's a glimpse of my journey today.( CLICK ON PHOTOS TO ENLARGE)

Here are some interesting rocks. There are lots of hiking trails around here and also lots of places for rock climbing. It gets pretty busy around here.
When I started out this morning, I put it out to the universe that I wanted to see some wild burrows. Towards the end of my journey, I finally did. Three in a pack. One was a baby.

I pulled over to the side of the road to let them cross the street.

This is the third one. He's a little more curious and he came pretty close to the passenger side of the window.

He stared right at us.

There's the baby, hiding amongst a tree.

Sasha is very happy and excited to see some four legged critters.

I just thought this made an interesting photo.

On to Blue Diamond, a little tiny town just down the road. I snapped this shot of the park as I was driving.

I had such a pleasant drive. It was just what I needed to feel satisfied. Ah! What will I explore and share next?
Maybe, pictures from Nashville, Tn. I will be there in four days. I'm so excited.

  1. Great pictures. I, of course, especially love the burros. They look very healthy and filled out. Have fun in Nashville.

  2. I love Red Rock Canyon and have been there a number of times. I never saw wild burros, though. That must have been fun. I had the "CARS" theme running in the back of my mind while reading this...;-)

  3. Those burros were just too cute! I love their big ears - they give their faces such an innocent look. Can't wait to see Nashville. It will be quite the contrast from Red Rock Canyon. Our country has such a varied landscape!

  4. Tonight is the full moon! ...if it is clear go out and take some photos. If you live away from the city lights you should get some neat shots. You might need a tripod or something to keep your camera still. Thanks for the comments

My shots were my 2nd attempt at shooting the moon. I've thrown a lot of shots away practicing.

  5. What a picturesque place for you to explore. I love the shot of the burrow posing for you - he could be a supermodel one day with a stature like that!
