I will not say, "I'm Sorry."

I've made a decision to get rid of one of my most annoying habits.

I will no longer say, "I'm sorry" if I happen to bump into you.

Instead, I'll look into your eyes, I'll smile and say, "excuse me."

I'll no longer say, "I'm sorry" if you lose a loved one.

Instead, I'll say, "my thoughts are with you during this terrible time."

I'll no longer say, "I'm sorry" if I happen to cut you off in traffic.

Instead, I'll give you a friendly wave and say, "oops, my bad."

I'll no longer say, "I'm sorry" if your significant other leaves you.

Instead, I'll embrace you and say, "I'm here for you."

I'll no longer say, "I'm sorry" for sending too many emails.

Instead, I'll say, "I share with you because I'm building friendship"

I'm not sorry anymore.

What do I have to be sorry about?

I haven't done anything wrong.

Sorry is a bad word that denotes inadequacy, worthlessness, insignificance, and sadness just to name a few.

But I am adequate, worthy, significant and joyful.

So, bye bye pathetic SORRY word.

I'm not a doormat.

I don't need you any more.

I am on a path of self-discovery.

  4. Sorry is so easy to say, darn it. You are quite right. But somehow saying, "I'm empathetic" doesn't seem to carry the anquish. Good post. I tend to act as a guilt magnent too when I haven't done anything wrong.

  5. Very insightful. I think we all say that phrase too much because we don't stop to think about what could really be said. You have motivated me!

  7. I agree; sorry is such a submissive word and all the associated guilt that comes with it happens as soon as it's left your lips!

  10. Perfect sentiments. I love the idea of putting more thought into the things you speak. Making the decision to be intentional with even the little things.

  11. Woo hoo - I agree with Andrea, to put more thought into what we say and actually connect with those we speak to.

  12. You really got me thinking with that post. I will definitely think twice before saying sorry when I haven't really thought about what it is I'm meant to be sorry for. Great post!
