Friday My Town Shoot Out~ Silhouettes

This week's theme of silhouettes was chosen by Carrie.  You can visit the town shoot out main page to see a list of members.  I believe the town shoot out team is accepting new members so please visit the blog if you are interested in joining our wonderful group.

Now, on with the assignment.  I was somewhat intimidated by the topic, but I managed to get a few shots in this evening.  I am posting two photos which I took standing in my backyard looking over several neighbors yards to get the photo of the silhouettes.  I think they turned out nice.  I hope you will like them too.

The next photo, I actually brought a chair outside to stand on

so I could get a better view without the retaining wall being in the way.

  10. Very pretty. Palm trees are something I don't see, unless they are manufactured from metal!

  18. I like your palm leaves, they make such good photos.

Re: My wok, I better scrub it clean before I send it to you. Did you read a Reader's Digest story where a home help nurse came to help a sick woman, she was going to cook some soup and started to take down a pot hanging on the wall. (She had been admiring the newness of the pots.) The kid said," Sorry, mam, my mum doesn't use these pots." Then he went under the sink, the old grubby pots were there.

  20. Stunning! I love how you were able to truly capture a shadow without much light illuminating the foreground. :)

  23. I love the second photo. And you are my kind of photographer, getting up on a chair. I carry a small step ladder in my car. It really comes in handy.

Thanks for sharing your talent with us once again.

  25. I really, really like that second shot. I love the way you have the sharp lines of the palm and the softness of the needles on the other tree. Cool!

  26. Love the texture of the first shot, interesting effect of the tree in the foreground! The second shot looks like it belongs in an ad for a vacation...very nice!
