I'm Happy Because.......

Today I'm happy because..........
I was able to snap my fingers on my right hand.
I haven't been able to do that for about two years because of my Rheumatoid Arthritis,
And today...............
I was listening to music in the car and I was going to show my husband how I couln't snap my fingers,
and to my surprise I was able to.
That simple little pleasure gave me so much joy.
I am unable to express how happy that made me feel inside.
The simple act of snapping my fingers was something I took for granted,
until I couldn't do it anymore.
Now, I am thrilled to be able to snap my fingers to the beat of the music while I'm driving.
I am bursting with joy and floating through the air like bubbles.
It means that I'm eating better and/or the meds are working.
Yay!

  1. That is awesome! Have you noticed the pain disappearing elsewhere too? I can't snap with my right hand just because I can't. *lol*

  2. Hey JarieLyn,

I used to snap my fingers ALL the time! I kinda got out of the habit though. Actually, some former co-workers put the kabash on my finger snapping tendencies while at my desk. I was just too much of a distraction for them!

The next time I snap my fingers (and surely that will be sooner rather than later) I will think of you. Snap!

  3. Wonderful. Keep snapping away. I have noticed in my old age (which you still have to look forward to) I have lost the ability to whistle. Egad. However will I show I am happy.

  4. Your snapping fingers there in the Southwest makes me happy up here in the Northwest. Keep it up!

  6. I like the bubble picture! For what it's worth, I can't snap my fingers with my left hand and I can't wink with my left eye either...just because I can't on both counts!!

  7. It really is those seemingly simple things that we can be grateful for. Sorry to hear you have this illness, but you seem to have the right attitude(and thank goodness for advanced medicines, too!). My mother has this same condition, but she rarely complains and doesn't let it stop her from enjoying life(travelling, swimming, etc.)and I think her generally positive attitude(like yours) is part of why.
