Following, is the photo I've entered into that category. I took this picture before I even joined the camera club but I only edited last night. Our judges are very old school and they kind of frown upon creative effects even though it is allowed. Most of them prefer nature wildlife photography. But oh well.....
You can click on this photo to see the effects much better.
I've never posted the photos I'm entering in competition on my blog prior to the competition before but for some reason I felt like it today. Blah!
I'm hoping that someone can inspire me or give me some words of advice or feedback.
I personally happen to like this picture but I know it won't do well.
My next photo is of a window display I took while on vacation in Santa Fe.
I added another artistic effect which is fine because it goes into the creative category, but again,
It probably won't do very well.
Next is club challenge; SWEET
No doubt, I was very lazy on this assignment.
I had all kinds of ideas that I wanted to do and I was going to blow this one out of the water.
But I procrastinated.
And I ran out of time so I didn't do what I wanted to do.
Here is my lazy ass photo that I entered.
Shame on me!
I titled it Sweet butter and honey oats bread.
Lazy, Lazy, Lazy..........

AND SO UNINSPIRED
I think we all have ebb and flow with things that interest us. Maybe it is time for you to take a short break and rethink your interests. Have your interests changed? Is there something else you would rather be doing than shooting photos? It may just be time for something new out of boredom. I think if you put some thought into it you will find exactly what it is you want to do....for now at least.
ReplyDeleteyour photos look fine to me JarieLyn. I really like the first one. my son got me photoshop elements 9 for Christmas, haven't loaded it in my computer yet. tried the other day and found out my disc loader does not work anyway! my computer is old and well used. time for a new one. any ideas?
ReplyDeleteSorry. I went through a period like that a while back and I bought a Bryan Peterson book. He inspires me. And I made some new photog friends through meetup.com and they inspire me. Hope you find yours again!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I know that feeling of being" blocked" creatively so well.
ReplyDeleteYou are being too hard on yourself(and forget those judges!), though--the photos, since YOU like them(especially the first and second) are great! I am sure you'll get your usual enthusiasm back eventually.
JarieLyn - I read this when you first posted it and it was really late at night and I thought, "I'm going to go to bed and come back tomorrow and leave something inspirational and coherent to let JerieLyn know that it's ok that she's not feeling inspired right now. We all go through that and it's ok cause I love all the photos you post!"
ReplyDeleteSo I went to bed and only just now am I remembering to come back and say all the above. It's still very, very true. Don't take it to heart JarieLyn...it's just a phase, we all go through it. You'll get your mojo back soon :0D
